Lake Norman Regional Medical Center
MOORESVILLE – The Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will host an Open House for adults interested in becoming a hospital volunteer Thursday, November 10, from 2-4 p.m. in the hospital’s Community Room B.
The Auxiliary Volunteers have numerous committees such as awards, junior volunteers, fundraising, community outreach, and patient relations in which they perform special duties for the hospital and the community. Most recently, the volunteers organized the Click for Babies campaign in which volunteers knitted/crocheted purple hats to give to babies born in November to help raise awareness of the Period of Purple Crying. Volunteers sell books and have fundraisers to raise money for scholarships for those who are going beyond high school to earn a degree in health care. This December, the Auxiliary Volunteers will host their annual Teddy Bear Parade in which teddy bears are donated to local police departments to be given to comfort children during times of crisis in their lives, like an accident, fire at their home, or domestic violence.
The Auxiliary Volunteers at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center put in at least four hours of volunteer time at the hospital per week. “Being a volunteer here at Lake Norman Regional is an honor, because I know I am making a difference in my hospital and my community. I have also met many great people and made new friends,” says Brenda Mickelson, Auxiliary President.
You are cordially invited to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Auxiliary’s Open House to learn more about volunteer options and the benefits of becoming a hospital volunteer. For more information contact Brenda Mickelson, Auxiliary President, at 704.660.4112 or Brenda.Mickelson@hma.com.
