USA FIT Charlotte begins training for summer and fall marathons
CHARLOTTE – Charlotte’s Thunder Road Marathon kicks off its official training program – USA FIT Charlotte – Saturday, June 18 at 7 a.m. The 22-week session is open to anyone running a full or half marathon and is offered at all three Run For Your Life locations: Dilworth, 2422 Park Road; South Charlotte/Piper Glen, 6416 Rea Road; and University, 1816 East Arbors Drive.
Participation in the USA FIT Charlotte program includes: day-by-day training schedules; Saturday morning group runs; access to trained coaches; informational seminars; discounts at local retailers; and a T-shirt. Participants are also assigned to one of four groups so they can train with runners that keep a similar pace.
“USA FIT Charlotte is a tremendous program and invaluable resource for people of all running abilities to train for a full marathon,” said Tim Rhodes, race director of the Thunder Road Marathon, which is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12 in Charlotte. “It is a great way to train properly to help avoid injury and to complete a marathon, while having fun, learning helpful tips and making new friends.”

Registration is $125 per person and $100 for a returning USA FIT Charlotte member. To register, stop by any of the three Run For Your Life stores before June 18.
