MOORESVILLE – How long is the wait time in the emergency room at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center? Now you can find out fast – via text message.
The hospital off I-77 Exit 33 says it has introduced ER Extra texting, to help patients making decisions about emergency care.
In addition to checking ER wait times online, patients can download an ER Extra iPhone app or access wait times via any mobile phone. Wait times reflect the average wait time of the previous hour of the patients that were assessed during that time, otherwise known as Time to Triage.
There is even an ER Extra texting option designed to help decision making in emergency care extra fast and extra easy. Simply text your zip code to ERTIME (378463) and you will get back a text with the current ER wait time at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
The hospital said the service is only recommended for those not requiring immediate emergent care.
“We always recommend that if you think you may have a medical emergency, please call your doctor or 911,” the hospital said in a press release.
