The Bindu workshop mixes yoga discussions & practice

The Bindu Yoga and Wellness in Cornelius will offer a workshop the weekend of Jan. 15-16 that mix discussions of yoga texts with short yoga sessions. Dr. William Mahony, professor and chair of religion at Davidson College, will lead the lectures and discussions on how heart-centered spiritual practices can open participants to experience love.
Kelley Gardner, founder and director of The Bindu, will lead short yoga sessions between Dr. Mahony’s lectures and discussions.

The sessions will be Saturday, Jan. 15, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30-5:30 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 16, noon to 3 p.m., at The Bindu, 11138-C Treynorth Drive in Cornelius. Participants may register for the entire weekend, or individual sessions.
Sharing teachings from the Narada Bhakti Sutra, a 10th-century yoga text from India, Dr. Mahoney will inform us on the practice of cultivating spiritual love for the world, for others, for ourselves and for life itself.
Besides Ms. Gardner’s short yoga sessions, the workshop will also include short meditation sessions aimed at helping participants refine their understanding of all of the facets of love.
