Tai Chi for Health offered in Cornelius

The Cornelius PARC Department presents Tai Chi for Health for participants ages 18 and up. This eight week session will be held on Monday mornings from 9:30am – 10:30am starting Nov. 1, 2010 and concluding Dec. 20, 2010. All classes are held in the community room at Cornelius Town Hall located at 21445 Catawba Avenue, in Cornelius.
This eight week session concentrates on Yang Style, 24 Forms. This is the most popular, most practiced Tai Chi Form around the world. Tai Chi uses agile steps and gentle, flowing circular movements to provide a fitness and health exercise and a “moving meditation.”
Instructor Joe Higgins is a certified Tai Chi instructor and the class is suitable for beginning students or anyone wishing to renew their Tai Chi practice.
Registration fee is $50 per resident and $58 per non-resident for this eight-week session. Participants may register in person at Cornelius Town Hall or online. To register online, visit the Cornelius PARC website [1].

Cornelius Parks & Rec also offers a variety of other fitness and health-related classes, including Dance & Shed, Pilates, and a Couch to 5K running program.
