MOORESVILLE – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, off I-77 Exit 33, recently announced the appointment of several new members to its management team, including new directors of surgery, information management, pharmacy and oncology and a new controller.
Brenda Burk, RN, has been promoted from Director of Ambulatory Surgical Services (Surgical Center, Endoscopy Center and Bariatrics) and Interim Director of Surgical Services to Director of Surgical Services. Her areas of responsibility include Ambulatory Surgery Center, Endoscopy Center, Bariatrics, Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and Central Supply. Burk has been employed with Lake Norman Regional since 2006.
Robert Childers has been promoted to Director of Plant Operations. Childers previously served as the department’s assistant director and has been with the department since 2001. He serves as the hospital’s Safety Officer and some of his areas of responsibility include Plant Operations, Bio-Med, Security and chairing the Environment of Care committee.
Shellie Cobb, RHIA, CCS, has been promoted to the position of Director of Health Information Management. Cobb previously served as the department’s Assistant Director since 2008. She succeeds Cindy Johnson, RHIT, CCS, who accepted a new position within the company as a Health Management Division HIM Director.
Charles “Chuck” Fogle, PharmD, assumed the Director of Pharmacy position in July. Fogle was previously Director of Pharmacy at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville. He succeeds Reggie Faulkner, PharmD, who accepted a new position within Lake Norman Regional’s home office, Health Management Associates, Inc.
Debra Holender, RN, CIC, has been named the hospital’s Infection Control Practitioner. Holender joins Lake Norman Regional from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center where she served as an infection control practitioner. She is board certified in Infection Prevention and Control.
Lindsy Leahy, RN, BSN, has been promoted to Director of Third Floor Medicine and Oncology . Leahy earned her bachelor of science degree in biology prior to earning her bachelor of science in nursing. She joined Lake Norman Regional in 2004 and has served as a nurse in several nursing departments before most recently as a house supervisor.
Lee Lopez joined Lake Norman Regional this summer as Controller. Lopez was most recently with Ernst & Young, LLP, as a Senior Healthcare Consultant. He was previously with Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, Tx, as a Governmental Accountant, and prior to his tenure with Methodist worked in various accounting and financial analyst roles for Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Tx.
Julie Millirons, BSN, is the new Director of Resource Management for Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. She received her bachelor of science in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, Ga. Before joining Lake Norman Regional, Millirons was the Director of Case Management at Palymra Medical Center in Albany, Ga.
