Free prostate cancer screenings this month

Lake Norman Regional Medical Center (LNRMC) will offer free prostate cancer screenings in September as part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
The screenings, conducted by urologists from Lake Norman Urology and Carolina Urology Care, will take place on Sept. 11 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and on Sept. 25 at the Davidson College Student Health Center. Both events will be held from 9 to 11 a.m.
Although it is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the United States, prostate cancer can be treated successfully if detected in its early stages. The screening process is quick and simple and involves drawing a blood sample and a physical exam that takes less than five minutes.
For more information, or to make an appointment, please call the hospital’s Community Outreach department at 704-660-4859. The free screenings are a community service of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and the physicians of Lake Norman Urology and Carolina Urology Care.
