The Town of Davidson will host the XTERRA North Carolina 5 & 10 mile trail running races Sunday, Sept. 5, at 8:30 a.m., at Fisher Farm Park, off Shearers Road. It’s the first event of its kind here and is part of a series of trail runs around the southeast this summer and fall.
Organizers call Fisher Farm a “hidden gem” for trail running. The race will start on the gravel road but then head into the woods. The race will run a clockwise loop, heading south/left at the trail head. Runners will follow Green and Blue trail sections – the beginner and intermediate mountain bike routes. It includes “a little bit of everything: rolling hills, single track, double track, roots, along with some technical sections (tight and twisty trails).”
Packet pickup will be the morning of the race, from 7 to 8 a.m. Race starts promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Early registration is being accepted through Aug. 20, for $30. The fee for registrations Aug. 21-29 is $35. Race-day registration is $40. Early registrants are guaranteed a “Dri-Fit” shirt.
