A pair of blood drives are scheduled in Davidson next week. Community Blood Center of the Carolinas and student Claire Lockman have organized a drive for Wednesday at the Old Cotton Mill. Then on Thursday, American Red Cross and Ben & Jerry’s will host a “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” blood Drive at the ice cream shop on Main Street.
CLAIRE LOCKMAN BLOOD DRIVE
Mooresville student Claire Lockman has organized a blood drive for Wednesday, July 14, from 3-8 p.m. at the Old Cotton Mill, 209 Delburg St. Working with Community Blood Center of the Carolinas, she says she planned the drive in part as a way to honor her 93-year-old grandmother, Billie Lockman, of Statesville.
Drawings will be held for gas cards. Walk-ins welcome. CBCC says it is particularly in need of type O-negative donors. More information is available at cbcc.us. Or call Claire, 704-363-2842.
GIVE A PINT, GET A PINT
American Red Cross and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop at 202 S. Main St. will host a “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” blood drive Thursday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Donors get free ice cream at the drive, as well as a coupon for a free pint of ice cream.
Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are also available by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or http://www.redcrossblood.org/. Donors also will get a free Red Cross T-shirt and will be entered in a drawing for a $1,000 gift card.
