5k Run Too Overcome aids special needs programs

The second annual Run Too Overcome 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run will take place on Saturday, March 6 at 8 a.m. at the Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics Center, 11725 Verhoeff Drive, Huntersville. Proceeds benefit the Special Needs Programs for 8 CMS Northern Learning Community Schools: Bailey Middle, Blythe Elementary, Croft Community, Davidson Elementary, Huntersville Elementary, J.V. Washam Elementary, Torrence Creek Elementary, and Barnette Elementary.
Online registration for the event is available at www.queencitytiming.com [1] (through March 3). Registration forms can be picked-up at the Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics Center or at the front offices of participating schools.
Advance registration is $25 for the 5K Run/Walk ($20 for CMS Staff) and $15 for the Kids Race. Race Day registration is available at the race location from 6-7:45 a.m. at $30 for the 5K and $20 for the kids’ race.
Entertainment at the event will be provided by the local band Cynergy and by the Coca-Cola Discovery Vehicle, which features a Wii Sport playcenter and interactive inflatable games.
