Davidson Presbyterian hosts fundraising breakfast Sat. - Thu, 17 May 2012
Davidson Presbyterian Church will host another in its series of fundraising church breakfasts this Saturday, May 19, in downtown Davidson. Meanwhile, Davidson United Methodist Church's Boy Scout Troop 82 plans a pancake breakfast on the lawn Sunday, June 3;  Hopewell Presbyterian plans a picnic lunch at Latta Plantation this Sunday; and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius will celebrate its 185th anniversary. Also, Davidson College Presbyterian has a special graduation day schedule, and DCPC and other area Presbyterian churches are helping out Ramah Presbyterian, a sister congregation, for a couple of months this spring while the pastor is on medical leave. In letter to community, clergy oppose Amendment One - Wed, 02 May 2012
Five Davidson clergy express their opposition to Amendment One, the proposed N.C. constitutional amendment on the May 8 ballot that would outlaw legal unions between anyone other than one man and one woman. They say it goes against their faiths and would "enshrine" discrimination in the constitution.

Holocaust remembrance, DPC breakfast, mini-golf for Young Life - Thu, 19 Apr 2012
Davidson College and the Jewish community of Lake Norman will host a Yom HaShoah Holocaust remembrance event Thursday night, with music and contemplation. Also on the local church calendar: A breakfast Saturday morning and Mass Choir concert Sunday night, both at Davidson Presbyterian Church; and a "Mini-Golf Mania" tournament for Young Life on Sunday at Lake Norman Miniature Golf.
