Commentator Jennifer Montague: Once again, I’ve left a church on Sunday morning feeling angry, frustrated, and even a bit betrayed. Once again, I’ve asked myself, “Why, in the literal name of God, is it so difficult to find a church!?”

Sculpture dedicated, amid conversation about art, homelessness - Sun, 30 Mar 2014
The lifelike sculpture of a vagrant in the middle of the picture-perfect St. Alban’s neighborhood has sparked a conversation about homelessness and the purpose of public art. And that, St. Alban’s senior warden Peter Macon said in a dedication ceremony on Sunday, is exactly what it was intended to do. The sculpture is dedicated to Macon’s late wife, Kate McIntyre. Macon says she “saw public are as a way to inspire conversation, a way to inspire emotion,”

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church will dedicate its new outdoor sculpture “Homeless Jesus” after the 10:30am service on Sunday, March 30. Since it was installed in February, the figure of Jesus sleeping on a park bench has generated a range of responses, as well as news coverage and commentary far beyond Davidson.
