And interested adults can learn more at an open house Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the High School, 404 Armour St. in Davidson.

The school has a state-of-the-art wood shop, and during the open house instructors will offer a demonstration of the equipment. Samples and information will be available to help prospective students select the best class based on their skill levels and interests.

Classes will begin the first week of October and will run for six weeks. CAP has a limited number of lathes, so students must pre-register. Each class will have six students. The cost is $180 for the six-week session.

Registration is open, and is first-come, first-serve. Students may sign up for class at the open house, or may call Cathy Templeton at 704-896-8823.
