This Saturday, Oct. 1, Summit Coffee and The Birdsnest music studio will host an 11-hour benefit concert for the Davidson Public Library’s “Got Brick?” campaign on the back porch at the coffee shop, 128 S. Main St. Also downtown Saturday is the Davidson Housing Coalition’s Festival for Hope and Housing, and Taste of Home food fest on the Village Green. Meanwhile, Community Arts Project in Cornelius is holding a “Taste of Art” fund-raiser Tuesday to support its art education programs. And The Charlie Daniels Band is scheduled to play at the 2nd annual Jail & Bail fund-raiser at The Brickhouse Tavern, supporting a NASCAR-related scholarship fund in memory of Brienne Davis.
