Starting on Tuesday, June 11, two seven-week sets of shag dance lessons will be offered in Mooresville by Twister’s Shag Club, a non-profit social group for singles and couples age 21 and over.

Beginner lessons start at 7:30pm and are for those who don’t know how to shag (or those who want to learn the proper technique).

Beginner II lessons start at 8:30pm and are for those who have taken the first class, or are comfortable with all of the basic steps and are ready to learn more.

Each seven-week set is $35 per person and includes one free buffet meal. You do not have to bring a partner, or sign up in advance to take lessons. But, students are asked to arrive a minimum of 30 minutes early the first week to get checked in and to get their instructional materials.

Enjoy some great music, meet some new friends and have some fun by learning to shag. It’s the dance of the Carolinas! Even those who “don’t dance” will find shagging easy to learn. So what are you waiting for?

Lessons will be held in the large room addition to Fat Boys Restaurant. It’s on the northeast corner of I-77 Exit 36, off N.C. 150. (GPS location: 114 Days Inn Drive, Mooresville). Students are encouraged to show up in time to take advantage of special buffet prices and eat before lessons. The facility also has a full bar.

Twisters Shag Club is offering free lessons on Tuesdays for the next 7 weeks.

Starting on Tuesday, April 16, in Mooresville, two 7-week sets of shag dance lessons will be offered to the public by Twister’s Shag Club, a non-profit social group for singles and couples age 21 and over.

The lessons are:

• Beginner I Lessons start at 7:30pm and are for those who don’t know how to shag (or those who want to learn the proper technique).
• Beginner II lessons start at 8:30pm and are for those who have taken the first class, or are comfortable with all of the basic steps and are ready to learn more.

Both seven-week sets of classes cost $30 per person total.  No partner is needed and you don’t have to register in advance. However, dancers are asked to arrive 30 minutes early the first week to get checked in and pick up instructional materials.

Lessons will be held at Fat Boys Restaurant, off NC 150 at 114 Days Inn Drive, Mooresville, off I-77 Exit 36.
