Bruce is a Mooresville resident and UNC Chapel Hill student. She’ll bike more than 4,000 miles from Florida to California beginning in May, with the organization Bike & Build, which raises money for affordable housing.

The cozy bistro run by Chris and Christina Phillips is now closed Sundays and Mondays. They’ll now be open Tuesdays to Friday lunch, 11 a.m.m to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday dinner, 5 to 10 p.m. The restaurant’s half-off wine specials are now available on Wednesdays.
