Davidson College’s production of “Into the Woods” has its final performances this weekend, so catch it while you can. Davidson Community Players Connie Co. opens “Stuart Little” on Saturday. Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools are closed on Friday for a teacher workday. Cornelius Arts Center hosts a Camp Crawl Saturday previewing its summer art camps, and they’ll be giving away prizes. Gethsemane Baptist Church is celebrating its 106th Birthday, celebrating it during the Sunday 10 a.m. worship service and musician Joshua Panda will be playing at the Birdsnest on Sunday. Also, Davidson United Methodist Church hosts an egg hunt Sunday afternoon at Lake Norman YMCA waterfront.

“Masterpiece,” a new play about a famous art forgery, debuts this weekend at Davidson Community Players, running Thursday-Sunday. Thursday night, there’s a Davidson College men’s basketball game against Elon. Friday night’s music includes Davidson Local at Summit Coffee, and the Lake Norman Big Band Friday night at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Davidson’s baseball team faces Ohio Friday. On Saturday, the Davidson Farmer’s Market is open, there are two baseball games and a basketball game and a concert to benefit McKinney Academy. Davidson College Presbyterian Church hosts a chili cook-off, while soup is at the heart of a fund-raiser in Mooresville for Serenity House.
