Ms. Curry first served as Discovery Place’s vice president of education and later as the project director for Discovery Place KIDS during the Museum’s construction phase. Since its opening in late October 2010, Discovery Place KIDS-Huntersville has hosted more than 70,000 visitors, with Curry as its first director.

“Debbie Curry’s passion for kids and diligent spirit were an imperative part of building Discovery Place KIDS,” said John Mackay, president and CEO of Discovery Place Inc. “She leaves a lasting legacy and we are grateful for her incredible commitment to the Museum for so many years.”

Said Ms. Curry: “Discovery Place KIDS was a labor of love for me and I am thankful to have worked with such a strong and dedicated team,” said Curry. “While the time has come for me to move on to other endeavors, I am so happy to have been part of creating this wonderful learning opportunity for the community and to see the smiles of all the children who have come to visit.”
