Clint Smith

Davidson College invites the public to an address about integrity, compassion and speaking up by alumnus Clint Smith ’10, at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 17, in Duke Family Performance Hall, Knobloch Campus Center.

Hosted by the Davidson College Student Honor Council, Smith will discuss “Honor Across Lines of Difference: The Danger of Silence.”

Smith is a poet and teacher and now doctoral student in education at Harvard University. He spent three years teaching for Teach for America in Maryland, where he was named the Maryland Humanities Council’s 2013 teacher of the year. He also has been a US State Department cultural ambassador, giving workshops on diversity and youth empowerment.

The event is free, but tickets are required; tickets are available at the Union Ticket Office or by calling 704-894-2135.
