MOORESVILLE – The blood-thirsty zombies are back at “Scarrigan Farms” this fall for the seventh season of haunted thrills and gruesome chills. Beginning Friday, Oct. 5, and continuing Friday to Sunday nights through Nov. 2 (and Thursday, Oct 31), brave guests will run, slide and crawl through the ½-mile, multi-leveled haunted trail, as they attempt to escape forest ghouls and wilderness psychos. The Town of Davidson will host the annual downtown Davidson Halloween March on Friday, Oct. 25, as part of an afternoon and evening festival that will include a Concert on the Green.
The afternoon begins at 4pm with games on the Village Green. Costumed kids and parents will start lining near Town Hall by 5pm. Merchants and other organizations will hand out treats as kids parade along Main Street. Following the march will be a Concert on the Green featuring Rough Draft will run from 6-8pm.

It’s Halloween weekend, with the Downtown Davidson Halloween March, a Ghost Walk at Latta Plantation, and the Davidson Historical Society’s Ghost Stories at Beaver Dam, with storyteller Sauni Wood. Downtown Charlotte has a Halloween bar crawl and the Gravediggers Ball. The high school football regular season wraps up this week with a game between Hough and Mallard Creek for the I-Meck 4A title. Lake Norman Christian School’s Autumn Blast is Saturday in Davidson, and several local middle-schoolers have organized their annual Think Pink Dog Show on the Davidson Green Saturday as well. The Cornelius Concert Series at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church hosts the Huntersville Brass Saturday. It’s Family Weekend at Davidson College, where events include the opening of the theater department’s production of “A Month in the Country,” free concerts by the Symphony and Chorale, and the Jazz Ensemble, and a Saturday football game vs. Butler. This weekend in Davidson is full of events fun and spooky. The town’s Halloween march on Main Street happens Friday. Hough High’s theater department produces “Dracula,” opening Friday, while Davidson College opens a production of “Pride & Prejudice.” Local children have organized a Think Pink Dog Show and Halloween party on the Village Green Saturday. Halloween night (Sun.) will bring a screening of the silent film Nosferatu with organ accompaniment. It’s family weekend at the College, and the College’s athletics teams will be busy with games this weekend.
Our Town Cinemas co-sponsors a costume contest at the Carolina Renaissance Festival Saturday and Sunday. All kids under 12 in costume free. Prizes include free tickets to the cinema. Our Town Cinemas also offers free kids movies this Saturday at noon – “Beetlejuice” and “Casper.” And for Davidson College Family Weekend, parents get in for the student ticket price.

The keyboard artistry of Henry Lebedinsky and the powerful Wicks organ in Davidson College Presbyterian Church will offer a chilling sound track for the classic classic horror film “Nosferatu (Dracula)” on Halloween night, Sunday, Oct. 31, at 7:30 and 11 p.m. It’s the fifth year for this spine-tingling event, which is part of the Organ at Davidson series.

Davidson Parks & Rec and local merchants will host the annual town Halloween march on Friday, Oct. 29. Kids and parents are invited to come in costume and stroll on Main Street collecting treats from downtown merchants.
