Edith Pearlman

Award-winning writer Edith Pearlman will give a public reading on Tuesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m., in Davidson College’s Sloan Music Center, Tyler-Tallman Hall. Ms. Pearlman, who recently won the National Book Critics’ Circle Award for her collection stories “Binocular Vision” is also in the running for a Pulitzer Prize.

Ms. Pearlman, who has published more than 250 works in national magazines and anthologies, will discuss her literary experiences. A book signing will follow the event.

Ms. Pearlman received the 2011 PEN/Malamud Award for excellence in the art of short fiction. Three previous story collections were: “Vaquita,” winner of the Drue Heinz Prize for Literature, “Love Among the Greats,” winner of the Spokane Fiction Award, and “How to Fall,” winner of the Mary McCarthy Prize. She lives in Brookline, Mass.
