Meanwhile, it&#8217;s <strong>Homecoming Weekend at Davidson College</strong>, including Saturday&#8217;s football game vs. San Diego. Saturday and Sunday also bring the <strong>15th annual Rural Hill Sheep Dog Trials</strong>, one of this area&#8217;s most unique autumn traditions.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget: <strong>Davidson Farmer&#8217;s Market</strong> has <a href="http://davidsonnews.net/foodanddining/2010/10/27/davidson-farmers-market-changes-to-fall-schedule/" target="_blank">shifted to its winter schedule</a>, which means no market this Saturday. At <strong>Our Town Cinemas</strong> this weekend: &#8220;Morning Glory,&#8221; &#8220;Hereafter,&#8221; &#8220;Due Date&#8221; and &#8220;Megamind.&#8221; (Note: Harry Potter arrives next week &#8211; the Nov. 18 midnight show is sold out.)</p>

<p>Davidson Community Players will present their first-ever first-ever youth musical, &#8220;Once on This Island Jr.,&#8221; described as the Caribbean adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen&#8217;s &#8220;The Little Mermaid.&#8221; Directed by Melissa Ohlman-Roberge, with a cast featuring high school performers from the region. <p><strong>Bone marrow typing drive</strong>, after the 9:45 and 11 a.m. services at Davidson College Presbyterian Church, Main Street and Concord Road &#8211; Be The Match Bone Marrow Registry drive. The registry helps patients who need a marrow transplant find a donor and receive the treatment they need. Donors must between the ages of 18 and 60, be willing to donate to any patient in need, meet the health guidelines. Testing for the registry is done by a simple cheek swab. <p><strong>African Muslims in 19th Century America</strong>, 7 p.m., Davidson College Alvarez College Union, C. Shaw Smith 900 Room &#8211; Dr. Allan Austin, Professor Emeritus of History at Springfield College, will speak on &#8220;African Muslims in Antebellum America:  The Life and Times of Omar Ibn Said.&#8221;  Omar Ibn Said was born in Senegal in 1770.  Enslaved in 1807, he spent much of his adult life in Fayetteville, N.C. He was a renowned Islamic scholar, one of the most literate enslaved Africans about whom we have substantial information.  The program is co-sponsored by the Center for the African Diaspora. Free.</p>
