Thursday, Activate Community Through Theatre (ACT) invites youth aged 13-18 to audition for “Act Now: Stop Bullying” from 1:30-3:30pm at the Warehouse PAC. The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra invites the public for a performance featuring winners of Davidson College’s 2013 Concerto Competition starting at 7:30pm in Duke Family Performance Hall; the concert is free of charge. Ariel String Quartet plays Sunday, Nov. 17, at Davidson College.

The 2013-14 Concert Series season welcomes the young and distinguished Ariel String Quartet to Davidson’s campus on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 3pm in Tyler-Tallman Hall. Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing, and soulful interpretations, the Ariel Quartet has quickly earned a glowing international reputation.

Indies + Docs film festival has added a Friday screening as well as  Sat. at Cornelius Arts Center.

Warm up after a cold week at one of the many events in the Lake Norman region this weekend. All day Thursday, eat at select Cornelius area restaurants to support United Way of Central Carolinas during their United We Dine event. Thursday afternoon, Green Drinks Lake Norman presents an evening with Joel Olsen, Managing Director of O2 Energies, at the Kaleidoscope Event Center. Meanwhile, the Indies + Docs film series at Cornelius Arts Center has added a Friday screening to the Saturday show for the Beatles’ documentary “Good Ol’ Freda.” And Davidson men’s basketball fans will be in Charlotte Saturday for the Wildcats’ game against Virginia. Davidson College’s production of the dark comedy “Reckless” opens Wednesday night and continues through Sunday at the black-box Barber Theatre on campus. Meanwhile, The Chuckleheads improv comedy group are back at Warehouse Performing Arts Center in Cornelius Nov. 23, while Activate Community Through Theatre plans youth auditions Nov. 21 for “Act Now: Stop Bullying.” Also Connie Company youth theater continues its run of “Narnia” this weekend at Davidson Community Players’ Armour Street Theater in Davidson.
