Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, at 19600 Zion Ave., invites community members to join the Mt. Zion Chancel Choir and instrumental ensemble for music and meditation April 17.

The Mt. Zion Chancel Choir and instrumental ensemble will present “Come Touch the Robe,” by Pepper Choplin, along with piano and organ duets played by Julie Jones and Woody Washam.

“Come Touch the Robe” uses the garment Jesus wore as a thematic device to recount the interaction of several people who were with Jesus during His last days on earth. The show is part of the church’s Cornelius Concert Series.

avidson College Concert Choir and Davidson Pro Arte Orchestra

avidson College Concert Choir and Davidson Pro Arte Orchestra perform Brahms' Deutsche Requiem April 11.

One hundred fifty singers from Davidson Concert Choir, Davidson United Methodist Church Choir, and Davidson College Presbyterian Church Choir, will join soloists Jacque Culpepper and Douglas Renfroe Monday night to sing Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem” with the Davidson Pro Arte Orchestra at Davidson College.

The performance begins at 7:30 pm at Duke Family Performance Hall on the Davidson College campus.

Tickets are available from the Davidson College Union Ticket Office in person, online at www.davidson.edu/tickets, or by phone at 704-894-2135. Admission is $15 General Admission; $10 Faculty/Staff/Senior Citizens; $5 Youth 18 and Under; free for Davidson College students.
