Hungry? Queen’s Feast Charlotte Restaurant Week returns
It’s time once again to welcome Queen’s Feast Charlotte Restaurant Week. This 10 day event with a $30 three-course format at area restaurants starts Friday, January 17th, and runs through Sunday, January 26th. There is no excuse for not getting out and exploring some fantastic offerings. A long list of restaurants in the Lake Norman area are joining in, including 131 Main, Alton’s Kitchen & Cocktails, Campania Cafe, Hot Stone Grill, Jeffrey’s, Kabuto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi, and North Harbor Club.

Former NAACP president Benjamin Jealous will be the keynote speaker as part of a series of 2014 Martin Luther King Day activities, seminars and talks at Davidson College. An image from the “State of Emergency” exhibition at Davidson College, by artist Robert Polidori, is titled “5417 Marginy Street, New Orleans, LA.” The 2005 image depicts the interior of a home destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Art by Chinese dissident Ai Weiwei will highlight an exhibition at Davidson College that concerns the theme of disaster. Curated by Director and Curator of the Van Every/Smith Galleries Lia Newman, “State of Emergency” will include works by 18 artists.
