This week offers a chance to attend a theater performance, a home and garden show and a number of informational lectures and seminars. On Monday, the Davidson public library is hosting Kid Lit, a discussion about author Allen Say for adults who enjoy reading children’s literature. Teachers from the Lake Norman area will be sharing their experiences at a small rural school in Guatemala during A Glimpse of Guatemala. On Wednesday, the owner of Instant Organic Garden will discuss how to have a garden without digging, tilling or weeding at Senior Scholars, there’s a lecture on the college process at Davidson Day School and Dr. Kristina Killgrove, from UNC Chapel Hill, will be speaking about how studying human remains can reveal details about the lives of immigrants in ancient Rome.
Byrony Lavery’s play Frozen starts on Friday at The Warehouse and continues each weekend until Feb. 13. This weekend is also the Charlotte Home and Landscape Show at the Cabarrus Arena where there’s a chance to gather insights from experts in the field. There are also two concerts on Sunday: bluegrass and folk music at Davidson College and spiritual music at St. Alban’s.
