Free outdoor events are everywhere this week, from movies to music to the Y&#8217;s Live at the Lake festival Saturday. Our calendar in and around Davidson this week also lists several public meetings, including a public planning workshop tonight on a proposed &#8220;North Davidson Parkway&#8221; around town, Davidson Town Board&#8217;s vote Tuesday night on the 2010-11 budget and a new marketing plan, and a Lake Norman Transportation Commission meeting Wednesday.<span id="more-4034"></span></p>
<p>Woodlawn School holds its first high school graduation on Tuesday, with a class of 2 (see the link to our feature story about the 2-person graduation class below).</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a free outdoor screening of &#8220;Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs&#8221; outside Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s in Davidson on Thursday night &#8211; after local public schools let out for the summer. Mooresville&#8217;s Movies on Main Series continues Friday night with &#8220;Alice in Wonderland.&#8221; And there&#8217;s a free pops concert Saturday evening at Bailey Road park with the Charlotte Symphony.</p>

<p><strong>MONDAY</strong></p>
<p><strong>Planning for North Davidson Parkway</strong>, 7 p.m., Davidson Town Hall, 216 S. Main St. &#8211; The Town of Davidson invites citizens to a public workshop scheduled to discuss plans for the North Davidson Parkway. It&#8217;s a road planned to connect areas along Highway NC 73 to southern Iredell County. The purpose of this workshop is to plan and confirm the best route for the future road. Details in our June 7 report, <a href="http://davidsonnews.net/realestate/2010/06/07/some-day-new-parkway-could-send-traffic-around-not-through-town/">&#8220;New road would send traffic around, not through, town.&#8221;</a></p>
