Don’t forget the Saturday morning Davidson Farmers Market downtown. And there’s another Concert on the Green Sunday, with beach music by Band of Oz.

    DAVIDSON DASH SHUTTLE BUS – Mondays, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Town of Davidson has begun service on a weekly shuttle bus called Davidson Dash. The bus will visit downtown, South Main Street, Sadler Square and the Harris Teeter shopping center near Exit 30. Cost: $1 per roundtrip.     Plan to arrive early at Downtown Davidson Inc.’s June 28 Concert on the Green when the eight-member Band of Oz takes Davidson to the beach.

    The music run 6-8 p.m. on the Village Green, Main Street and Concord Road in Davidson.

    Band of Oz has been on the road since 1977 making a name for themselves throughout the Southeast and among beach-music fans. They have long been guests at most of the major beach concerts in the Carolinas, Virginia, and Georgia. And Band of Oz was inducted into the Beach Music Hall of Fame in 1997. The band now features a full horn section to total a dynamic eight-member group.

    Bill Bowman and Shane Wagner with the Bowman Wagner Group at Merrill Lynch, CCI Property Management, Barra Row, The McIntosh Law Firm and the Town of Davidson sponsor this concert. The show will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the Davidson Village Green, at the corner of Main Street and Davidson/Concord Road in the heart of the historic downtown district.

    Each concert this year will feature a picnic contest with to be awarded to the winners. The theme for the June 28 concert is “Beach Blanket Bingo”.
