It’s the July 4th weekend, with a handful of activities in the area, including Saturday night’s Davidson parade and Concert on the Green. There’s music at Summit the next couple of nights, and the Davidson Farmers’ Market is open Saturday morning. 
Apart from that, our community calendar shows a quiet few days ahead, leaving time for family picnics and neighborhood gatherings.

Longtime local theater volunteer Max Polley, former board chair of Davidson Community Players, has been recognized for his work by American Association of Community Theatre.
The Town of Davidson won’t have fireworks at its community gathering this year, so if you’re in the mood for some sparks, head to Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville on Friday, July 3. Meanwhile, Davidson’s town celebration on July 4 will move to the Village Green this year, with music by Rough Draft and children’s activities. And the week begins tonight with a Planning Board meeting tonight, where the discussion will focus on the ongoing development of a new townwide Comprehensive Plan.
