Eagle Scout Award commemorating the centennial of Scouting in America

Area Boy Scout officials will recognize the centennial of the Eagle Scout Award later this month, and they’re trying to spread the word to any Eagle Scouts who live in the Lake Norman area.  Eagle is the highest rank awarded in the Boy Scouts of America. Eagle Scouts will gather Tuesday, March 16, at 6:30pm at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main St., Mooresville.

During the Renaissance, the word wit signified intelligence or wisdom. “Wit” is the title of a drama written by Margaret Edson, currently in production by the Davidson Community Players and in every sense of the word, wit is the result of their achievement. Davidson’s production certainly rivals the Broadway Tony Award-nominated play with Cynthia Nixon, even the made-for-television award-winning version starring Emma Thompson.

THEATER: Psycho-drama “Crimes of Omission” opens Thursday at Warehouse Performing Arts Center

The annual Run Too Overcome, which raises money and awareness for special needs education in area schools, kicks off this Saturday morning at the Davidson Village Green. This week’s calendar includes an information session on Internet safety for people of all ages, an opportunity to learn about area businesses at the Lake Norman Business Expo on Friday, and the 2013 Southern Conference Basketball Tournament in Asheville.
