SUMMARY:Theology, Poetry of Christian Wiman
DESCRIPTION:Tony Abbott\, professor emeritus of English at Davidson College\, will teach a three-week class on the theology and poetry of Christian Wiman on Feb. 8\, 15 and 22.  Wiman’s most recent books are My Bright Abyss: Meditation of a Modern Believer\, and Every Riven Thing\, a book of poems listed by the New Yorker as one of the 10 best books of the year. He will have a new book of poems out in September. The instructor will hand out short selections from these books.    Wiman\, who is senior lecturer in religion and literature at Yale Divinity School\, is the Maloney lecturer at Davidson on Feb. 15 and 16. You may want to attend his lectures as well as these classes.

Relying on a renewed boyish charm\, Ralph attempts to woo the elegant but distant Carol. SUMMARY:Digital Artist Photographer Shares Camera Techniques
DESCRIPTION:[caption id="attachment_28270" align="alignright" width="136"] Barry Moore[/caption]    Barry Moore\, a digital artist photographer\, will demonstrate camera and lighting techniques at the Sunday\, Feb. 15\, Mooresville Arts demonstration. Moore will demonstrate photographing artwork under glass as well as three-dimensional work. Included will be information on image processing in Photoshop. Moore is a digital artist who creates art from scratch and transforms photographs into art using computer software. His art and technology skills have led him to work with such organizations as the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center\, Piedmont Dance Theatre\, Cannon Foundation\, UNC Nutrition Research Institute\, Oakboro Regional Museum of History and the Kannapolis Historical Society. He is also president of the Cabarrus Art Guild. Today\, Moore's company\, RBS Productions\, offers services related to photographic restoration and the transforming of photographs into art.    The demonstration is open to the public. Admission is free.
