DESCRIPTION:The annual Dinner at Davidson fundraiser will be in the Lilly Family Gallery of the Chambers Building at Davidson College on Friday\, Feb. 6\, 2015. A cocktail reception and silent auction will begin at 5:30pm and the “Many Faces of Davidson” gallery will open at 6:30pm. Dinner will be held at 7:30pm. Tickets are $85 and can be purchased online.    Organized by students\, the dinner is among 10 days of events highlighting the college’s efforts to make itself more affordable and help students graduate without loans. Proceeds go to the college’s Davidson Trust financial aid program\, will be on Friday\, Feb. 6 in the Chambers Building. DESCRIPTION:W.A. Hough High School's boys and girls basketball teams travel to West Charlotte for games Friday night.     The girls play at 6pm. Scoreboard here. Hough's girls are 9-4 overall\, and 5-4 in the MECKA conference.  They're in third place\, two positions ahead of West Meck\, which is 6-8 overall\, 4-5 in the conference.    The boys play at 7:30pm. Scoreboard here. Hough is 12-5 overall\, 7-4 and sitting in third place in the MECKA conference. West Charlotte is 12-2 overall and 8-2 in the conference\, one spot ahead of Hough.

Pre-pageant festivities begin at 7 p.m.\, and the pageant starts at 8 p.m. Enter your bully in the pageant with a $10 donation to Bullies 2 the Rescue. DESCRIPTION:Davidson Local will perform a benefit concert at Summit Coffee Friday night from 8-11 to raise money for Joe Steele and his family. Joe is the Davidson College Physical Plant worker who was badly burned last month in a steam-heater accident on campus.      Shaw Smith will say a few words about Joe and they’ll pass the hat.  Musical performers include Davidson faculty members Durwin Striplin\, Shelley Rigger\, Jonathan Berkey\, Carole Kruger and John Wertheimer; students Jacob Luftglass\, Betsy Marshall\, Ethan Whitener\, Courtney Baldwin\, and Jack Goffinet; and assorted others.
