Woodland Discovery will present “Ancient Sounds: a Musical Exploration of the Native American Flute” on Saturday, October 5th from 10am – 11am. Woodland Discovery invites all Musicians, Scouts, and families to a musical and storytelling presentation by Hawk Hurst. Hawk’s performances dynamically bring the wonders and wisdom of ancient cultures to life, as he shares from a storehouse of firsthand experiences. Fun-filled and highly educational, audience participation is an integral part of each show. The selections Hawk shares, offer a fresh perspective of how our ancestors came to value and respect the diversity of the natural world around them. Performances emphasize positive character development and the importance of finding our creativity within our community.
The program is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.
In addition, children age 10+ and adults are invited to sign up for a Flute-making workshop from Noon to 3:30. You will complete a high quality rivercane flute. Cost is $75 for all materials and instructions. See www.hawkhurstflutes.com.
Pre-registration for both storytelling and flute-making is required so that we can contact you in case of inclement weather or other changes. For registration, send an email to woodlandsdiscovery@gmail.com.
Be sure that you receive an email confirming your registration.
