Shakespeare Goes To Woodstock
Davidson Community Players’ The Connie Company Presents William Shakespeare’sTwelfth Night: Illusion, deception, disguises and a shipwreck, these are all part of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies, Twelfth Night. Davidson Community Players’ The Connie Company returns to the stage with this is a hilarious story of identical twins and mistaken identity.
With a cast of teen-aged actors, director Wrenn Goodrum re-imagines Shakespeare’s greatest comedy for a generation of youth and takes the Shakespeare production into the world of 1969 Woodstock! This adaptation of Twelfth Nightpromises to thrill and enchant audiences and is part of DCP’s Shakespeare Unplugged Series.
“The Shakespeare Unplugged workshop is an exciting and unique way to introduce Shakespeare to the community,” stated DCP’s education coordinator, Katie Williams. “This production is the culmination of a six-week workshop in which performers studied the Shakespeare language and how it is used in Twelfth Night to help shape the costumes, set, lighting and props.” Katie adds, “With a 1960’s setting, this is going to be a fun twist on Shakespeare.”
One Weekend ONLY:Friday, Sept. 19th at 7pm; Saturday, Sept. 20th at 4pm and 7pm: Sunday, Sept 21st at 2 pm
