Davidson Police Detective Steve Ingram will offer a program on “How Does the Davidson Police Department Solve Crimes?” It’s one of a variety of events this fall surrounding the annual ReadDavidson townwide reading program. Here’s a list of all the 2013 Events:
- SATURDAY, SEPT. 7, 8am to noon, Davidson Farmer’s Market, downtown Davidson – Ed Patterson discusses plants/herbal remedies
- MONDAY, SEPT. 16, 7 to 8:45pm, Davidson Public Library – Davidson College Professor Anne Blue Wills leads a book discussion.
- WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 25, 7-8:45pm, Davidson Public Library – Davidson College biologist Michael Dorcas delivers a lecture about reptiles. Kids welcome.
- TUESDAY, OCT. 15, 7-8:45pm, Davidson Public Library – Davidson Police Detective Steve Ingram speaks on “How does the Davidson Police Department Solve Crimes?”
- THURSDAY, OCT. 24, 7-9pm, The Pines at Davidson, 400 Avinger Lane – Author Wiley Cash visits Davidson for “An Evening with Wiley Cash”
This year, the Book Clubs of Davidson group is raising funds through sponsorships to help pay for Wiley Cash’s visit. There is a fund-raising lunch on Thursday, October 24, hosted by ReadDavidson, where participating sponsors will be able to eat and talk with Wiley Cash. The Book Clubs of Davidson also are hosting a fund-raising dinner that evening, where Wiley Cash will be the guest of honor, and sponsors will be able to dine with him. Sponsors of $250 and above are invited to attend the luncheon or dinner; one or two people per sponsorship may attend the meal event of their choice.
