Event Navigation
Davidson College invites the public to a talk about “Promoting the Rights of Children in the Midst of Armed Conflict” on Monday, September 16 at 7:30pm in the College Union.
Davidson alumna Zama Coursen-Neff (Class of 1993), Executive Director of the Children’s Rights Division of Human Rights Watch, will present the talk beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Alvarez College Union Smith 900 Room. In conflicts worldwide, students, teachers and schools are not just caught in the crossfire; they are also intentionally targeted as a tactic of war. Coursen-Neff will speak about how these attacks affect children, and the efforts of Human Rights Watch to protect schools, teachers, and students.
The talk is part of the Ethics Forum series hosted by Davidson’s Vann Center for Ethics at Davidson. For more information, contact Amber MacIntyre at 704-894-2095 or ammacintyre@davidson.edu. There is no charge to attend.
