Gov McCrory to Speak at Kannapolis Veterans Park Dedication

Rowan and Cabarrus County veterans, families, friends, and patriot across the region are invited to attend the Memorial Day dedication and reopening of the Veterans Park in downtown Kannapolis.
Ceremonies begin at 11:30 a.m. with the Parade of Veterans, followed by the dedication program at noon. Highlights of the program include lighting of the Memorial’s eternal flame, opening remarks by Gov. Pat McCrory, a presentation by Rep. Richard Hudson of the flag flown over the U.S. Capital Building in Washington, DC, and more.
At 2pm, there will be a free public screening of the film “Pearl Harbor” at The Gem Theatre.
Limited edition t-shirts, specially designed for the May 27 dedication, are on sale now at Village Park, 700 West C St. and will be available at the dedication ceremony for $10, with all proceeds funding bronze plaques that are being installed in Memorial Plaza.
