The next screening in the Cornelius Arts Center’s Indies + Docs film festival will be “Searching for Sugar Man.” It’s Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7pm. This inspiring documentary details how one unknown man can change the world—and even he not know about it. It won the Oscar for Best Feature Film Documentary at the 2013 Academy Awards.
The following Saturday, October 19, at 7pm, the series will show the taught indy drama, “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.” Directed by the promising young director, David Lowery, has been the talk of the Cannes and Sundance, and other major film festivals, and is getting excellent reviews.
The first November screening, “Good Ol’ Freda,” is Saturday, November 9 at 7:00pm. This quirky new documentary about The Beatles features backstage stories from their personal assistant, Freda Kelly, who was with them since their earliest days in Liverpool. “Good Ol’ Freda” has been receiving great reviews and screenings at top festivals.
