Green Day festival

The Davidson Lands Conservancy’s Green Day festival will run from 8am to noon on the Village Green, with than two dozen exhibitors including local service clubs, nonprofits, businesses, schools and food vendors. The event follows the Run for Green half marathon, 10K and 5K races.
Davidson Garden Club will have its annual plant sale during the festival. Local honey will be for sale and you’ll find information on beekeeping and honey bee displays. Other highlights include post-race runner care including chiropractic, stretching, shoes and clothing; home composting information; backyard chickens; an introduction to the TreesDavidson project; home solar power; a bike corral for those who bike to the event; food from Carrburritos and hand-made popsicles from The King of Pops; reptiles from the Davidson Herpetology lab; kids activities and green crafts, facepainting; home energy saving ideas and products; and information on building a backyard bird habitat.
Entertainment will include local teen juggler Austin Bruckner, Dance Davidson dancers, The Davidson Green School, Community School of Davidson and the Lake Norman Community Orchestra Woodwinds.
A raptor release is tentatively scheduled at 10am by the Carolina Raptor Center. A combined group of local student percussionists will perform using products from the race’s headline sponsor, MSC Industrial Supply, in place of “traditional” percussion instruments!
