Brick Row Gallery will be holding its first live open-mic style poetry night this Wednesday from 6-9pm. Brick Row is at 21325 Catawba Ave. in downtown Cornelius.

“Brick Row” is an innovative concept non-gallery art gallery. It’s purpose is to display local art and to function as a meeting place. Brick Row can be thought of as “an open-source event oriented themed gallery” or “A creative space with walls that talk.”  Read the full story

The group exhibit “Parodic Machines” opens this week at Davidson College’s Belk Visual Arts Center, with a panel discussion and an opening reception. The show features five artists working in the field of robotics: Nick Bontrager, David Bowen, Matt Kenyon, Hye Yeon Nam, and Fernando Orellana.

A panel discussion is planned Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 6pm at the Semans Lecture Hall in the Katherine & Tom Belk Visual Arts Center, 315 N. Main St., Davidson. The artists will speak about their work, which relies on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics during a curator-led panel discussion.

The opening reception is Thursday, Oct. 24, 6:30–8:30pm, in the arts center’s Van Every Gallery.

Elie Bou Zeidan working on the mural, “Cafe des Artistes,” on Catawba Ave. Elie donated his time and resources to the community for the mural organized by Cornelius Cultural Arts Group to become a reality. Cafe Elie on North Main Street partnered with CCAG to host this month’s art crawl at the Chair Factory.

It’s time for another 2nd Friday Art Crawl, Cornelius’s own monthly art happening, this month taking place at The Chair Factory shops on North Main Street (NC 115).

The crawl, Friday from 5-9pm, coincides with Cafe Elie’s “Main Street Art Exhibition.” They’ll be serving beer and wine and featuring amazing works from local artists.

Every second Friday, Cornelius Cultural Arts Group invites the community to experience downtown Cornelius in style. Hosted by Bella Love, this monthly art crawl features some of the area’s most talented and innovative artisans.
