The weekend in and around Davidson brings a long list of community events, from Friday night’s Davidson Gallery Crawl to the opening of the Davidson Farmer’s Market’s regular season debut Saturday morning, to the Lake Norman YMCA Family Fun Day Saturday. The “Miles for Marnie” duathlon, 5k and kids’ fun run is Saturday morning, and Davidson College’s baseball team hosts UNC Greensboro. Writer Bonita Jones Knott gives a spoken word performance at Warehouse Performing Arts Center. And “Stuart Little” continues this weekend at Armour Street Theater. Meanwhile, Saturday is also Reptile Day at Davidson College.

Davidson Reads starts off the weekend at Davidson College, where professors Alan Michael Parker and Shireen Campbell will be reading from their work. There’s a chance to learn how to build a wildlife habitat on your property in Mooresville on Thursday. On Friday there’s a pancake supper at Davidson Presbyterian Church and an Art Walk in Downtown Concord that will showcase art by almost 100 artists in 15 different locations. Saturday is the Davidson Farmer’s Market, a fundraiser for the Cornelius Animal Shelter and a fairy house festival in Huntersville where attendees can build their own houses. “Frozen” continues, playing Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
