To keep pace with growth, consultants say the town of Davidson needs to nearly double its amount of retail space. 6,000 people are expected to move to the town over the next five years, increasing demand on Davidson's limited number of stores. The latest study comes as officials consider a "catalyst project" that could be built on land the towns around and near Town Hall. Jonathan Cox reports.

MSC says profits grew in 4th quarter, announces special dividend - Tue, 28 Oct 2014
MSC Industrial Direct Co. said Tuesday its sales rose 7.8 percent and operating profits rose 13.9 percent in the fiscal 2014 fourth quarter, from a year ago. The Davidson-based industrial supplier also announced this week it will issue a special dividend of $3 per share, citing good earnings prospects ahead.
