Davidson College’s production of “Into the Woods” has its final performances this weekend, so catch it while you can. Davidson Community Players Connie Co. opens “Stuart Little” on Saturday. Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools are closed on Friday for a teacher workday. Cornelius Arts Center hosts a Camp Crawl Saturday previewing its summer art camps, and they’ll be giving away prizes. Gethsemane Baptist Church is celebrating its 106th Birthday, celebrating it during the Sunday 10 a.m. worship service and musician Joshua Panda will be playing at the Birdsnest on Sunday. Also, Davidson United Methodist Church hosts an egg hunt Sunday afternoon at Lake Norman YMCA waterfront.

The folk music group Davidson Local plays Friday night at Summit Coffee. Davidson Farmer’s Market is open and there’s a 5k and kids’ fun run in Huntersville Saturday to help fund special needs activities at participating schools. Later on that day, Davidson Lands Conservancy, Davidson Outdoors and REI host Paddlefest, an afternoon of activities to celebrate the opening of the new canoe/kayak launch on Lake Davidson. Sunday, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church’s arts and spirituality program presents artist Tom Shulz discussing Michelangelo’s famous sculpture “The Pieta.”
