Our community calendar this week is filled with fun and fundraisers, including two road races on Saturday, the Angels of ’97 5K and spaghetti dinner in daylight, and Summit Coffee’s Leprechaun Loop 8K in the evening. Public meetings include Wednesday night’s Lake Norman Transportation Commission meeting on the I-77 widening project, and Democratic precinct meetings in both Davidson and Cornelius Thursday. There are concerts at Davidson College and live music in local clubs. And Friday night brings another in the series of ‘Tawba Walk art crawls in downtown Cornelius. And don’t forget St. Patrick’s Day: The region’s biggest party will be at Galway Hooker Irish Pub in Kenton Place, where they’ll have live music, along with plenty of food and drink both Saturday and Sunday this year. Don and Divina Cook have produced another powerful drama, currently on stage at The Warehouse for Performing Arts in Cornelius. The intriguing psycho-drama, “Crimes of Omission” was written by Don, and his wife, Divina, frequently seen on stage, is the director. Their collaborations invariably lead to success.
