Youth Day is one of two bands playing at Saturday night’s Rock the Cure fundraiser at River Run.
Lake Norman area teens in several bands, including The Distance, Youthday, Jessica Merklein Band and Ricky Calud Ellis – will “Rock for the Cure” Saturday night at River Run Country Club in Davidson, to aid ShirleysAngels.org, a non-profit that was created to help women diagnosed with breast cancer. Walter H. Bennett
Walter Bennett, a former civil rights attorney, judge and law professor, will discuss his new novel, “Leaving Tuscaloosa” set in the Deep South in 1962, on Tuesday, April 1, at 10:30am at the Cornelius Library, 21105 Catawba Ave.

The Davidson College theater department is producing “Providence Gap,” an awesome, original North Carolina original show, over this weekend at the Duke Family Performance Hall.
Davidson’s interpretation of “Providence Gap,” written by Preston Lane with lyrics by Laurelyn Dossett, follows its 2010 premiere on the Triad Stage in Greensboro. Read the full story

Davidson College’s theater season concludes this month with Appalachian-inspired musical “Providence Gap.”
The show, running March 26 to 29, is a journey of self-discovery and a celebration of North Carolina’s Appalachian heritage.

A reception Friday will celebrate the work of Davidson Day student photographers in the current exhibit “Witness Davidson” at Town Hall.
A reception at Davidson Town Hall Friday, March 21, from 4:30 to 6pm will celebrate the Davidson Day student photographers whose work is in the current Town Hall exhibit “Witness Davidson.” The show is a series of 60 black-and-white photos of downtown Davidson by students of instructor Laura Mueller Woods.
