On Saturday afternoon, catch the Davidson women’s basketball team playing UNC Greensboro at Belk Arena.

Register now for Jan. Parks & Rec programs

Davidson Parks & Recreation is now pre-registering for programs that begin in January -from ongoing meetings such as Davidson Senior Scholars and Lake Norman Teen Council to music and dance classes to activities for pre-schoolers and other kids.

James Family Christmas calls off 2010 display

For the past three years, the James Family of Mooresville has hosted an automated holiday music-and-light show at their home on Springtime Lane, off Shearer Road. But this may be the last for the popular attraction because of vandalism and unruly behavior outside the home. Read the full story

Basketball and music ahead this week

Davidson’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have a series of home games over the next week. There’s music at Brickhouse Tavern, where Spin plays Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Oratorio Singers plan auditions for new voices

The Charlotte Symphony’s Oratorio Singers of Charlotte will conduct mid-season auditions for new members on Tuesday, Jan. 5, and Tuesday, Jan. 12, in Charlotte. The symphony’s official chorus is seeking new voices, especially male voices and altos. Read the full story

Cain siblings return to give a free concert Sunday
