A public lecture by the artist Thursday night and an opening reception Friday will kick off the exhibit “Jaume Plensa: Sculptures and Drawings” at Davidson College this week.

Organizers are looking for car owners who want to show off their wheels at the 2nd annual AmeriCarna LIVE car show Nov. 29, 2014, at the Ingersoll Rand campus off Beatty Street in Davidson.
Hundreds of classic, cool, and celebrity cars will roll into town for the 2014 AmeriCarna show, presented by Ingersoll Rand and MSC Industrial Supply Co. It runs 10am to 4pm on Nov. 29, the Sunday of Thanksgiving Weekend. Read the full story

For the 41st year, the Carolina BalloonFest returns this weekend to Statesville Regional Airport. It’s is a fun-filled weekend of entertainment, attractions and family activities.
