Halloween in Old Town Cornelius Happy Halloween! Enjoy the weekend with numerous family events, theatre performances, and athletics events in the Lake Norman Region. Thursday afternoon, Discovery Place KIDS in Huntersville is hosting safe trick-or-treating at Discovery Place from 11am to 2pm. In downtown Cornelius, Bella Love is hosting Halloween in Old Town Cornelius along Catawba Avenue and the Oak Street Mill. This Week, enjoy art exhibits, lectures at Davidson College, and community events to celebrate Halloween. Today, the Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg will host its 23rd annual Charity Golf Tournament starting at noon at River Run Country Club. The DUMC Pumpkin Patch is open all week – hours vary and are listed on the Events Calendar. This evening at 6pm, the PEACE Foundation will host a workshop titled “The Bedroom Project,” an event focused on accidental overdose prevention amongst teens. Among the highlights: Author Wiley Cash, whose book “A Land More Kind Than Home” is this year’s ReadDavdson book, will visit for a dinner and talk. Today (Monday) The Angels of ’97 will host the 10th Annual Puttin’ Fore a Purpose Golf Tournament at Pine Island, starting at 12:30pm. The Cornelius Town Board meets tonight at Cornelius Town Hall at 6pm, with a public hearing planned on proposed changes to the town’s Land Use Plan.
