This weekend’s calendar is sure to keep you busy. Head to the Davidson or Mooresville farmer’s markets to add some farm-fresh produce to your menu. Gear up for a workout benefiting Autism Charlotte at CrossFit LKN. Harvey’s in Huntersville is having its annual art crawl and festival, and the whole family can prepare for July 4 festivities by going to hear the Charlotte Symphony and see fireworks at Bailey Road Park.
The fantastic Raptor Center Flight Show can be seen on either Saturday or Sunday – or both! Don’t miss the opportunity to attend a boating class that will be offered at Mt. Zion Church in Cornelius. For all the music lovers out there we offer several options on our calendar this weekend. Why not see some brilliant stage talent at the final production of “42nd Street”? There is a music jam to be enjoyed at Richard’s Coffee Shop, and outdoor concerts Saturday and Sunday at Birkdale Village.
Before you hit the water on your boat this summer, join The Lake Norman Sail and Power Squadron at Mt. Zion Church in Cornelius for their public boating class on Saturday morning. Or, if stocking your fridge with delicious fruits, veggies, and meats is on your to-do list, head to the Davidson Farmer’s Market in downtown Davidson and the downtown Mooresville Farmer’s Market.
If you’re in the mood for a workout that benefits a charity, there are two options for you: help CrossFit LKN reach their goal of $2,000 for Autism Charlotte by participating in their charity Workout of the Day or join CrossFit 77 for a workout competition fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting 24 Hours of Booty.
If you’ve worked up an appetite, take a short drive down the road to Huntersville, and grab some lunch at Harvey’s at Huntersville’s Art Crawl and Festival. Join the Raptor Center for its flight show on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. When the sun begins to set and the temperature begins to drop, then it’s time to grab your family and some blankets and head to Bailey Road Park for an evening with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and a spectacular fireworks show.
If you’re in the Birkdale area, a good choice would be the Mingling on the Green Concert Series. Saturday night The Next Level band will be performing, and on Sunday, enjoy the music of Bryan Anderson. 42nd Street will be concluding its run this Saturday. There are still a few tickets remaining for purchase; I hear the show brings the audience to their feet!
