The nonprofit Community Arts Project on North Main Street in Cornelius is offering holiday workshops for kids over the next few weeks, beginning with an Edible Art and Christmas with Fancy Nancy programs on Saturday, Dec. 21. They’re also accepting registration for winter classes, and laying plans for a Valentine’s Party in February.

- Holiday Edible Art – Put on your aprons and join us for this all-time favorite workshop as make fun and yummy holiday themed food! You will take home fun creative decorations and little gifts to give to your special friends and family! If you love to cook and love art then this workshop is just for you! Ages 4 to 7 – $15, Saturday, December 21, 1:00pm – 2:15pm
- Christmas with Fancy Nancy – Have a splenderifious Christmas with Fancy Nancy as we make homemade ornaments that make your face sparkle, gorgeous jewelry, elegant wrapping paper, festive decorations and decorate delicious cookies! Oh, and don’t forget the tree topper! Ages 4 to 7 – $12, Saturday, December 21, 3:00pm – 4:15pm
- Holiday Drop-in Art – Looking for something fun do to during the holiday break? Children ages 3 and under, drop-in with an adult to work at various holiday themed art stations throughout the studio! Children ages 4 and older may be dropped off. Register at the door and pay by the hour. $6 for the first hour. $4 for the second hour, per child. Ages 18 months to 12. December 23, 26, 27, 30 & January 2 & 3, 10:00am – 2:00pm.
- Registration for winter classes – The Community Arts Project has opened its registration for winter classes and workshops. Classes for all ages include Mini Masters, Homeschool Art: Advanced Color Studies, Drawing for Teens, Intro to Monotype and Painting with Watercolors.
- Have a Heart Valentine’s Party – Join the Community Arts Project for our annual Have a Heart Valentine’ Party on Saturday, February 8th, 10:00am – 1:00pm. This wonderful event is great for children of all ages as we make cards, lots of Valentine’s themed art centers and more! This is a free event, however, donations are encouraged and shared with the Buddy Kemp Caring House in Charlotte. 20700 N. Main St, Suite 112, Cornelius.
