Bundle up and head out to one of the many events across the Lake Norman Region this week. Thursday at 5pm, the Community School of Davidson will lost a ribbon cutting for its new ArtSpace [1] at the school. The event will include a food truck rally from 5-8, and a ribbon cutting at 5:45 with Mayor Woods. Healthcare providers are invited to attend CPR training [2] at the Lake Norman Regional Medical center at 6pm and 10pm at their main campus. COMING UP THIS WEEK
Today, “Miracle on 34th Street” [3] continues with a show at 8pm, and will run Friday and Saturday at 8pm as well. There will also be a 2pm and 7pm show on Sunday.
On Friday, The Town of Huntersville will have an ice skating rink at the Town Center [4]. The rink will be up today from 10am – 8pm, tomorrow from 4pm – 8pm, and Sunday from 10am – 5pm. Downtown Cornelius welcomes back the Second Friday Art Crawl [5] at the Oak Street Mill from 5pm – 9pm, featuring a pedestrian friendly path of art, craft, culture, and community. Camp Wesley in Mooresville welcomes the public to Walk Through Bethlehem [6] at their first Christmas display from 6 – 9pm, both tonight at tomorrow.
Saturday, the Davidson Farmer’s Market [7] returns with winter offerings from 9am – Noon next to Town Hall. The North Meck Senior Center will host a Bake Sale [8] at Danny Phillips Old Store Produce Stand from 10am – 2pm: come enjoy baked goods for a good cause. The North Mecklenburg Community Chorus presents “A Merry Carol of the Bells” [9] at 3pm at Community in Christ Lutheran Church in Cornelius, featuring a diverse array of sacred and secular holiday tunes.
Meanwhile, downtown Huntersville ‘s annual A Huntersville Christmas has been rescheduled [10] from Saturday to Sunday afternoon, 2-6pm, because of Saturday’s forecast of bad weather.
Davidson College will host a memorial service and run for assistant women’s cross country and track coach Paul Taylor [11] at 2pm in Davidson College Presbyterian Church’s Lingle Chapel. The memorial run begins at noon.
Sunday, Mt. Zion UMC’s Praise Team will present “Have No Fear” [12] at 9:45am and 3pm in the church’s Family Life Center, and Bethel Presbyterian’s Chancel Choir and Acts of Renewal will present “Rediscovering Christmas” [13] at 6pm the church. Davidson College Men’s Basketball team will take on Drexel [14] at home in Belk Arena at 2pm.
